After some exploration, you will take the ferry from Tremezzo, out to Bellagio, known for its adorable cobbled lanes, elegant buildings and Villa Serbelloni Park, an 18th-century terraced garden with lake views. Take in the atmosphere here before returning by ferry where your coach will meet you and transfer you back to your hotel for the evening.
The view of the Borromean Islands from Stresa is a beautiful sight but today is the day that you get to explore them up close. The Borromean Islands are a group of three small islands and two islets in Lake Maggiore. You will first take a trip by boat to Isola Bella, what is considered to be the most beautiful of the islands.
Isola Bella is dominated by its luxurious Baroque palace, along with a sumptuous Italian-style garden, which reaches a height of 37 metres and is laid out on ten terraces.
You will then proceed by boat once again to explore the final stop of the day which is Isola dei Pescatori.
Take today to spend as you wish. As the hotel is based in the stunning area of Stresa, you may choose to use the day to explore your surrounds. Stresa is a popular destination for visitors who flock to the area due to its grand luxury hotels, as well as its marvellous views of the Borromean Islands and the surrounding mountain backdrop. Today could be the perfect day to take in the areas beauty, enjoy some nice food and indulge in a spot of people watching.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you will board the coach to take you on a day-long excursion to the cosmopolitan city of Milan. This is a truly beautiful and vibrant city, known as the fashion capital of the world and praised for its wonderful cuisine. But Milan is also a city with a rich history and is home to some of the world's most celebrated art and architecture.
In the city, your guide will take you on a walking tour of all of the must-see spectacles including the famous and breathtakingly beautiful Milan Cathedral.
Your coach will pick you up after breakfast today to set out on a day packed full of exploration and discovery. The first port of call will be the wonderful Lake Iseo. It fully retains its natural beauty and is the lesser known and lesser visited of the Italian lakes but it is by no means any less spectacular. Lush green mountains surround the crystal waters of the lake and it is surrounded by several interesting medieval towns.
From here, you will take a ferry ride out to Monte Isola. As the name might suggest, this island is more like a mountain situated on the lake. It is lush and green giving it a wonderful organic and naturally beautiful edge. The island itself is really something to behold but the views from its shores are simply jaw dropping.
After you return from your visit to Monte Isola, we will proceed to the next stop which is Franciacorta, famous for its wine production. Here, we will visit a wine cellar and carry on to Spumante for a wine tasting along with some delicious Italian snacks to accompany.
Afterwards, your coach will return you back to your hotel for the evening.
Your final day can be spent however you wish. You may be looking to relax and unwind after such a jam-packed few days. Why not lounge for a while on a sunbed by the hotel’s pool, which boasts a pretty beautiful view. Or take to the lake’s shore to enjoy the lapping waters and drink in the Italian sunshine.
Transfer to Bergamo Airport for your returning flight to Dublin.
This property is offered on a Half Board basis. Dinner is 3 course.
After completing my degree in Liverpool, I spent a few years gaining experience in hotels in Chester and Cornwall before landing in Livigno to organise custom ski tours in the area. I look forward to working as part of the Topflight Team again this summer and winter and am here to assist you throughout your holiday!
