Capri is the livelier of the two, but you can easily escape to the quieter hills, olive groves and garden terraces overlooking the Mediterranean.
Anacapri with its whitewashed villas and flowering bougainvillea is an exclusive, unspoilt resort. From here you can take a 12-minute chairlift ride to the top of Mount Solaro and take in its breathtaking views.
